La Reina del Barrio

La Reina is a celebration of resilience, creativity, and community. Founded by Rhina, a visionary creative from East Harlem (El Barrio), La Reina was born from a desire to reclaim narrative power and create meaningful opportunities beyond traditional industry limitations.

With a background in theater and television production, Rhina’s journey reflects both the challenges and triumphs of navigating creative spaces as a woman of color. Rather than waiting for doors to open, she built her own — launching La Reina del Barrio, a production company rooted in purpose, representation, and authenticity.

The name La Reina del Barrio, meaning “Queen of the Community,” honors heritage, strength, and the vibrant culture that shaped her path. It represents leadership grounded in service, creativity driven by intention, and the belief that powerful stories come from lived experience.

At its core, La Reina is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices, fostering inclusive storytelling, and empowering creatives to lead with confidence and integrity. Every project reflects a dedication to community, culture, and creative freedom.
